In 1993, the Dixie Children's Fund was founded as the education foundation for the Dixie School District.  In August 2010, the Dixie Children’s Fund changed its name to Can Do!.  We believe that our children are the future, and the mission of Can Do! is to raise funds to enrich the education of all Dixie School District students by providing them with the academic foundation to continue their education. We work in partnership with the District, site-based organizations and the community to give our children the best education possible.

The Dixie Children's Fund, dba Can Do! is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Our Federal Tax ID number is 68-0298033

Can Do!

Can Do! (formerly, the Dixie Children's Fund) is the education foundation which raises funds for the four schools in the Dixie School District.  Can Do! has raised over $4 million dollars in its 17 year history.  We have a well-established record of success raising funds through the annual Family Giving Campaign, Business Partner Program, auction fundraiser, district-wide directory, eScrip, San Francisco Giants Night, and the annual golf tournament sponsored by local Scotty's Market.

In the 2011-20121 school year, Can Do! will provide over $575,000 to our district to fund programs including District-wide technology, elementary physical education, visual and performing arts, K-2 music, and Miller Creek counseling.  With your support, Can Do! will grow and continue to support these programs and more, allowing our children to reach their potential!

The Dixie School District was formally established in 1864 when the Old Dixie Schoolhouse (shown above) was built.
Today, the Dixie School District serves the northern San Rafael communities of Terra Linda, Marinwood, and Lucas Valley.   The school district is made up of three elementary schools and one middle school:
Dixie Elementary (K-5),
Mary Silveira Elementary (K-5),
Vallecito Elementary (K-5),
and Miller Creek Middle School (6-8).
Approximately 1800 students attend these four schools.
